Advanced Tagging: Creating Tag Trees

Tag Trees are Group ID Tags organised with sub-tags - for example: T-shirts → Colour → Size. They’re ideal for tracking items such as sold merchandise, product variations, or categorised groups efficiently.

Creating / Adding to a Single Guest

  1. Accessing a Guest Profile

    1. On your web dashboard, navigate to your event.

    2. Locate and open the specific guest profile you want to view or edit.


  2. Creating a Category for Your Tag Tree

    1. Click the Add Tag button located beneath the Tags field on the right.

    2. In the Tag Management pop-up, select Advanced Options.

    3. In the next pop-up, choose Tag Type → Hierarchical Tag.

    4. In the Build Tag Hierarchy field, enter the name of your root category and click the Add Root (blue) button.

    5. Your new Root Tag will now appear in the list below.


  3. Adding a Child Tag (Sub-Tag) to a Root Tag

    1. Click the (+) icon next to your listed Root Tag.

    2. In the pop-up that appears, enter the name of your Child Tag and click OK.

    3. Your Child Tag will now appear as a linked sub-tag under its parent category.

You can easily add further sub Child Tags by repeating the process via the (+) next to your first Child Tag.

Importing Bulk Tag Tree Guest Data

1. Creating the correct guest data format in your CSV/Excel file.

a. Add a new column to your dataset for your Tag Tree values. In the example, this appears as Column 4 (Merch).
b. Enter your tag hierarchy by separating the “Root” item and each “Child” tag with a “>” symbol (e.g., T-shirt > Black > Large) within the guest’s row.


2. Select the correct drop down option when importing your data file

a. During the import process, choose the Hierarchical / Tree Tags option from the dropdown to match your Tag Tree column.
b. Proceed through the remaining steps to complete the import.
c. Tip: After importing, open a guest profile to confirm that your Tree Tag data appears correctly in the guest’s Tag(s) field.


3. Tag Tree Attendee Statistics

a. Once check-in begins, real-time attendee monitoring is automatically activated for your event.
b. You can access multiple options for live tracking and post-event reporting, including PDF event reports or the live HTML dashboard.
c. Tag Tree statistics are automatically organised into their Root and Child tag sections for clear, structured insights.
